You can get A Word A Day delivered right to your e-mail in-box... for everyone who didn't get enough of vocab tests in junior high, AWAD lets you start every day with a new vocab word!  Go to www.wordsmith.org to sign up.

Here are some of our favorite words [credit for the definitions and usage examples goes to Anu Garg, who created the AWAD website]:

Pernicious

Approbation

Metaplasm

Philogyny  The opposite of misogyny (would that make Tom a philemygist?)

Exoteric

Wisenheimer

Blatherskite

Illeist  This site is full of illeisms

Dysphemism

Labanotation

Strepitant

Hypercorrection

Holophrastic

Dehise

Anagram  An anagram of Emily Grossman is "A Mossy Gremlin."  An anagram of Thomas Reilly is "Its Holy Realm."  Find the anagram of your name at www.wordsmith.org/anagram!

Emily and Tom are planning to use as many of these words as possible in the vows they write.  Bonus points to any wedding guest who picks out all the AWAD words in the vows, and submits them at the end of the reception along with their definitions.
