Scouting Report: Sue used her family connections to nab a spot on the Grossman/Reilly roster. "We generally like to see the groom's attendant have an X chromosome and a Y chromosome," said a highly placed source," and Sue has two X chromosomes." However, team management overlooked her lack of a Y chromosome when they found out that her DNA was very similar to the groom's. "During tryouts, Sue pointed out that she and the groom share many of the same genes, which we thought was a compelling reason to put her on the team," said the same source. "And as a recent bride herself, she's familiar with everything that goes into making a wedding a Perfect, Perfect, Perfect Day for the bride and groom." When Sue was first named, some potential guests raised questions about what she would wear. "If they would have just chosen a guy, then I'd know that he'd be wearing an outfit similar to Tom's," said one guest-to-be. "But the choice of Sue throws me off, and now I don't know what to expect: Will she wear a tuxedo? Will she match Emily's attendant?" Because of the confusion, Sue issued a statement saying, in part, "No, I will not wear a suit. The Bride, in her infinite wisdom, has allowed both honor attendants to choose coordinating dresses. I will most likely end up wearing a black dress, but if I find a snazzy red dress, I may go with that." |
